"Verizon Business just concluded a tactical demonstration of various Emergency Communications Service offerings to a wide audience of attendees at our Ashburn Compound. MCW Wireless provided the wireless mesh solution for the demonstration with stationary and mobile connectivity. The solution provided our additional vendor participants with eyes on the ground and on the road to successfully demonstrate a rapidly deployed communication solution that could be used at any location rural or metropolitan once an event occurs and needs immediate common operating awareness."

Verizon Business Public Safety Demonstration

The Verizon Business Emergency Communications Demonstration held on October 7-8 at the Ashburn, Virginia campus was complete success. Verizon Business’ partners which provided the following solutions:

  • Green Trail Energy –106ft Tower with Solar and Wind Turbine
  • HDT—Rapidly Deployed Command Center Tent
  • Alvarion—WiMAX Broadcast
  • FiberTower—Microwave Back Haul
  • MCW Wireless—4.9GHz Public Saftey Network
  • Balfour—4D Common Operating Picture
  • GPSIT—GPS Tracking

MCW Wireless 4.9GHz Mesh provided transport for IP Cameras deployed throughout the Verizon Business Campus, and facilitated transport for a MCW Wireless Mobile Node, that had an IP Camera mounted on a vehicle. The cameras were visible in the command center tent, located next the tower using Bal4’s common operating picture software.

MCW Wireless working with Green Trail Energy mounted our FlxMesh 4 on the 106ft Green Trail Energy Tower, which can be mounted, preconfigured and shipped for rapid deployment.

Our MCW Wireless FlxMesh 4 nodes were placed around the Verizon Business Campus providing a 4.9GHz Mesh that was backhauled to the tower. The Public Saftey network provided offered low latency between each mesh node < 2ms, and provided quick handoffs for our mobile node.  Pictured above is a look at the root node on the tower, and  remote nodes before deployment.

The second day of the demonstration saw over 55mph winds. This equipment on the Green Trail Energy Tower sustained those winds, and with ballast the remote nodes maintained connectivity providing transport for the IP Camera feeds.

The MCW Wireless team was able to explain the capabilities and demonstrate the performance of our MCW Wireless FlxMesh 4 products to Verizon Business and its customers.
